Project Feral Cats
Project Feral Cats is a 501c3 non profit ran solely by volunteers. Our mission is to serve the Northwest Arkansas area and eradicate the feral and stray cat epidemic through Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) one colony at a time.
Our Services
-
Rescue
These feral cats are reproducing at a rapid rate. They are riddled with diseases, starvation, and deadly conditions. We rescue and partner to find homes for the cats that can be domesticated, then treat and create livable conditions for those that can’t.
-
Trap, Neuter, Return
We specialize in TNR (Trap Neuter Return). TNR is when feral cats are humanely trapped, brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, eartipped (the universal sign that a feral cat has been neutered and vaccinated), and then returned to their outdoor home.
-
Awareness
We are here to bring awareness to the feral cat epidemic. The first step to solving a problem is realizing there is one to begin with. The overwhelming majority have no awareness of this issue in so many communities. We want to do all we can to eradicate this.
We Need An Army
TNR and feral cat work is not for the faint of heart. We are dedicated to this cause and are working to build an army of volunteers that want to walk alongside us in this mission.
There is a role for anyone and everyone as a volunteer. See where you fit best or reach out and we can help you find your place.
TNR Colony Success Stories
TNR-managed feral cat colonies often thrive. After trapping, neutering, and releasing, feeders provide food, shelter, and health monitoring. Colonies stabilize with fewer kittens and less nuisance behavior. This humane method improves cat welfare and benefits communities by controlling populations without euthanasia. Many colonies show the success of continued care post-TNR. We have had many success stories since we started this mission.
Domestication Success Stories
Success in domesticating and adopting feral cats shows they can adapt with care and patience. TNR programs and fostering help cats learn to trust people and live indoors, allowing them to have loving homes and new starts. Awareness around this and the success stories, will help improve and show the value and importance of community animal care.
